Travel and childcare grants

The European Ovary Workshop offers a line of travel and childcare grants sponsored by EMBO and AthenaDAO.

Travel grants can be used to cover travel, accommodation, visa costs and/or registration fees. EMBO travel grants and registration fee waivers are allocated on the basis of the quality of the submitted abstract.

Additional special EMBO travel grants are available for EMBC Associate Member States Chile, India, Singapore and Taiwan.

EMBO also offers childcare grants to enable scientists with families to attend this event. Eligible costs include fees for a caregiver or childcare facility, travel costs for a caregiver, or travel costs for taking the child to the meeting etc.

Selection of awardees is handled directly by the organizers.

Applicants need to apply separately for these grants before December 10, 2024, using the Travel and childcare grant application form.

Travel grants and registration fee waivers	All countries	All participants who have submitted an abstract for EOW2025 can apply for a travel grant which can be used to cover travel, accommodation, visa costs and/or registration fees. Applicants should specify their needs in the application form for “Travel and childcare grants”.   Maximally €500 per participant can be allocated.
Childcare grants	All countries	EMBO Courses and Workshops offers grants to offset additional childcare costs incurred by participants or speakers when participating at any EMBO Courses and Workshop funded meeting. Eligible costs include fees for a caregiver or child-care facility, travel costs for a caregiver, or travel costs for taking the child to the meeting etc. Please describe in the application form how you intend to use the childcare grant and specify the sum that you will need.   Maximally €500 per participant can be allocated.
Special travel grants & registration fee waivers	Associate EMBC Member States (Chile, India, Singapore, and Taiwan)	Exclusively for participants of any nationality working in Associate EMBC Member States. Participants from Chile, India, Singapore, and Taiwan can apply for registration fee waivers and travel grants to cover the cost of attendance and travel expenses. Applicants need to submit an abstract for EOW2025 and should specify their needs in the application form for “Travel and childcare grants”.   Maximally €1,000 per participant can be allocated.
